Medical Response & Surge Exercise (MRSE): Reporting Tool Troubleshooting Instructions Now Available for Download in CAAMP
|

The MRSE support team has developed troubleshooting instructions to address issues identified in MRSE Reporting Tool version ‘MRSE_Reporting Tool_09.24.24.'
Health care coalitions in the process of completing or finalizing their MRSE Reporting Tool should review the troubleshooting instructions prior to final submission.
For health care coalitions who have not begun completion of their budget period (BP) 1 MRSE Reporting Tool, an updated version named ‘MRSE_Reporting Tool_Version 5_March 2025’ is now also available for download in ASPR CAAMP.
Any Hospital Preparedness Program recipient unable to access these documents in ASPR CAAMP should contact the HPP CAAMP support team Mailbox for assistance.
Health care coalitions should request copies of these updates along with all other MRSE guidance documents from their HPP recipient. Please contact the MRSE support team Mailbox for any additional questions and assistance. |

The MRSE support team will host MRSE TA
office hours on Thursday, April 24 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM ET. This session will focus on addressing questions health care coalition members have about planning for and executing the MRSE.
TA office hours are open to Hospital Preparedness Program recipients and health care coalitions. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the MRSE. Advance registration is not required to attend the office hours. Please use the link below to join the TA office hours:

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)/ASPR Project ECHO Clinical Readiness Rounds |
|
The HHS/ASPR Project ECHO Clinical Readiness Rounds share clinical challenges and successes in preparing for and responding to disasters from all threats. This program is designed to create peer-to-peer learning networks where clinicians who are highly experienced treating patients in emergency situations share their experiences with clinicians across the U.S. and around the world who can benefit from their lessons learned. Topics are based on new and emergent information around emergency preparedness, as well as topics requested by participants.
Please join ASPR on Tuesday, April 22 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM ET for the next session entitled, "Key Clinical Readiness Principles for Everyone in the Health Care Workforce." Speakers will discuss how the health care workforce can adapt skills to new settings, understand downtime procedures, and provide quality care under crisis conditions.
Regularly scheduled sessions are held every other Tuesday.

National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians: EMS Readiness and Response: A Reflection on the Oklahoma City Bombing |

Tragedy struck on April 19, 1995, when a bomb was detonated outside the Oklahoma City’s federal building. The blast killed 168 people, 19 of them children, and injured nearly 700 more. Within the first hour of the explosion, 139 patients were transported to area hospitals and during the day, 444 persons were treated for physical injuries. Among the lessons learned, is that the training of first responders and others from multiple agencies contributed to the successful response. Access the news release
